Mountain bike guide, community activist, mentor, leader, co-founder of an MTB holiday company, diversity and inclusion consultant… Aneela McKenna is a woman of many, many talents.

With so many strings to her bow, this podcast was only ever going to scratch the surface of all the amazing things she’s done and continues to do, but we gave it a good shot! Aneela chats about how she got into cycling, how she’s motivated to make cycling accessible and welcoming to everyone, and her work with the FNY collective. (Want to know what FNY stands for? You’ll have to listen…!)

She also goes into her new and exciting role at British Cycling and her work as a diversity and inclusion expert, and discuss where cycling is at when it comes to addressing this. She also talks about some of the amazing projects she’s working on, including one that encourages and empowers young girls through mountain biking and adventure - right up our street!

And of course, the all-important question: what’s her trail-snack of choice.

Giving Back

Every episode, each guests is asked to name a cause or charity that’s close to their heart so we can give them a boost - so show them some love!

Aneela has chosen the Women of Colour Cycling Group. Aimed toward any and all woman of colour that rides a bike (or is thinking about it) from roadies to leisure rides to mountain bikers to newbies, they have regular zoom meet-ups (and rides when such things are allowed again) as well as online coaching, skills, tech and maintenance sessions and more!
