Each episode, you can listen to someone brilliant from the world of cycling chat from pro-riders and industry insiders to community advocates to everyday adventurers.

We’re focused on off-road cycling, from MTB, downhill and enduro to gravel cycling, bike packing and adventuring… and everything else in between.

It’s a bit like having a post-ride chat in a cafe or pub with your friends!

Hello!

Hi! I’m Aoife, and I’m a writer, journalist, presenter and storyteller with a passion for cycling, adventure and sharing stories.

My background is in science communication and natural history, and I worked for over 10 years at the Natural History Museum in London, working with museum scientists to create and present daily events for the general public on everything from dinosaurs and meteorites to forensic pathology and deep sea fish. The events were basically like chats but with a live audience, so I’ve got a LOT of experience talking to people, and I love helping to share fascinating stories.

Then I got into cycling, and it changed everything. I loved the adventure of it, how it changed a simple commute into a chance to clear the head and watch the seasons change. And I got into all of cycling, from mountain biking to road cycling to touring to commuting; quite simply, they’re all brilliant.

So I changed careers completely, joining the (sadly no longer live) website Total Women’s Cycling as Deputy Editor, then moving to Bristol to become Women’s Editor on BikeRadar.com, and most recently Digital Editor of MBR magazine, one of the longest-running mountain bike magazines in the UK with global digital reach. I was Digital Communities Manager for the International Working Group for Women and Sport, and gender equity and equality is something I’ve always been passionate about.

I’ve also worked as a freelance journalist and writer, and have written for a range of titles and outlets including Red Bull, Lonely Planet, Trek UK, Bike Perfect and more.

But what I truly love is interviewing people, and when the Covid lockdown hit in 2020 I had an idea; why not start doing chats with people from the world of cycling? So I started a series of daily Instagram Live chats, many of which you can watch again now on IGTV, and from there decided to launch a podcast, and…well, here we are!

My focus is to not just share the stories of people you know (though of course there’ll be some big names) but also the ones you don’t yet know about but should.

I really hope you enjoy the chats and the stories. If you have any ideas or suggestions, if you’d like to nominate someone you think it’d be great to chat to, or any other feedback, then get in touch!

Happy riding!

Aoife :)
